  • Volunteer Instructions

    You must complete the following actions in order to be approved as a volunteer in an ADOC facility.
    For Returning Volunteers in 2022:

    1. Complete the appropriate training and successfully pass course quizzes (70% or greater)
    2. Contact the chaplain at the facility you are hoping to serve and schedule your visit time

    For New Volunteers:

    1. Complete the appropriate training and successfully pass course quizzes (70% or greater)
    2. Submit volunteer application forms for a background check
    3. Complete ADOC Forms 216-A, 216-B, and 216-C and forward to the facility you are hoping to serve at
    4. Upon approval of background checks, contact facility to coordinate schedule for entering the facility.  Click this link to find ADOC locations

    Which courses and quizzes am I required to take?

    1. Contractors & Vendors - take the Contractor & Vendor Course and pass the PREA quiz only
    2. Religious Volunteers - take the Religious Volunteer Course and pass both the PREA & Chaplaincy quizzes
    3. Non-Religious Volunteers - take the General Volunteer Course and pass both the PREA & General Volunteer quizzes 
    4. Volunteers at Women's Facilities - take the Women's Services Training Course and pass the Women's Services Training quiz and/or:  

          o    Religious – volunteers must also pass the Chaplaincy Quiz

                  o    Non-Religious Volunteers – must also pass the General Volunteer Quiz



  • Administrative Regulation (AR-216) Background Investigation Guide

  • Volunteer Application Forms Folder

    Volunteers must complete DOC Form 216-A, ADOC Form 216-B, and DOC Form 216-C

    Download these forms and return them to the appropriate ADOC facility.
