
In order to become a general volunteer you must:
1. Complete personal information and background check forms. Link
a. Download forms and contact the institutional volunteer coordinator (Re-entry Coordinator, Psychological Associate, etc.) where you intend to serve. Link
b. A completed background check is required before a final decision is made on one’s institutional volunteer status.
2. On-line training may be completed before or while background checks are being processed.
3. Read the PREA training information and pass the required test that follows.
4. Read the General Volunteer training material and pass the required test that follows.
When the aforementioned steps are completed, your training is completed. You may not enter the institution, however, until you have scheduled a time with the institutional volunteer coordinator.
